10. Einstein Failed Math
The story that Albert Einstein failed math is often used as an inspirational lesson: even a genius supposedly struggled in school, so bad grades do not mean much. It is a comforting story, especially for students who hate math.
But Einstein did not fail math. He was strong in mathematics from a young age and had already mastered advanced topics as a teenager. The myth probably comes from confusion over grading systems and the fact that he failed parts of an entrance exam, but not the math section.
